Membership Requirements

Before applying, please ensure you meet the criteria for the category that best matches your qualifications and experience.

A recognised degree or qualification in engineering or a related field.

Relevant experience for the membership category (e.g. 5+ years for Professional Members).

Active involvement in engineering practice, education, or research.

Commitment to SEA’s code of ethics and professional standards.

For Student Members, enrolment in an accredited engineering program.

For Honorary Members, nomination and approval by the SEA leadership.

How Membership Works

Registration is quick and simple. After creating your account, you can choose whether to apply as an individual or a firm and complete your membership application through the dashboard.

Create Your Account

Begin by registering with your name, email address, and password. This creates your SEA online account. No documents or membership type selection is required at this stage.

Access Your Dashboard

After registration, log in to the SEA Membership Dashboard. From here you can update your profile, track applications, and start the membership process.

Choose Membership Type

Inside the dashboard, choose whether you are applying as an Individual (Engineer, Technologist, Technician, Student) or as a Firm/Engineering Company.

Complete the Membership Application

Fill in the application form based on the type you selected. Individuals upload qualifications and IDs, while firms upload company licenses and documentation.

Application Review

SEA reviews your submission. You may be contacted for clarification or additional supporting documents during the verification process.

Receive Certificate & Member ID

Once approved, you will receive your official SEA Membership Certificate and Member ID. Firms receive their Certificate and Firm ID number.
